HomeLane.com, led by Srikanth Iyer, the former CEO of Pearson India, is working towards a technology-enabled business model to take care of the interior design requirements of homeowners. It operates on a partner-led model, where it ropes in an interior design partner to take care of design and communication with vendors (carpenters, modular kitchen vendors and so on). It shares 6 per cent of the overall project costs with the design partner. Iyer believes that HomeLane’s USP is its 45-day project competition guarantee, and it appoints in-house experts to monitor progress through the duration of an interior design project.
HomeLane is part of the GrowthStory ecosystem, that is led by serial entrepreneur K. Ganesh and the company also raised capital from Sequoia India and Mohandas Pai-led Aarin Capital.
Iyer has grand plans for the company and wants to become the largest player in India for all fixed furnishing (modular kitchen, cupboards, etc.) requirements with in three years.
HomeLane’s Kaleido, a virtual reality software, allows customers to envision how their living space will look, thus helping them make an informed choice.
It helps customers overcome issues like cost overruns and minimal control over quality and timelines, by ensuring the solutions fit within the buyer’s budget and by offering a 45-day delivery guarantee.
